We are excited to welcome The 19th Street Band, a country music trio from D.C., to perform cuts from their new CD, Live from the Hamilton. We will be hearing a diverse collection of their “old school” music following the traditions of The Carter Family and The Kingston Trio while also integrating modern elements of americana, country, and rock. This is a free family concert. Join us Thursday, August 21 at 7:30 pm.
It's a music night tonight! Lydia Dawson and Pattie Hopkins, of The Kickin' Grass Band, are here on Thursday, September 11 at 7:30 pm to share with us some songs from their new CD, Traditional Duets. The CD features guitar, fiddle, and lots of sweet, female harmony vocals. We can't wait to welcome them as they begin their new project as a duo!
For the second year, the International Bluegrass Music Association will hold its annual convention and music festival here in Raleigh in late Sept/early October. We're kicking off the celebration early with some of the best musicians in the business and they live right here in Raleigh. Joe Newberry is a Missouri native and North Carolina transplant who has played music most of his life. Known far and wide for his powerful banjo playing, he is a prizewinning guitarist, fiddler, and singer as well. Joe is a frequent guest on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion. Nixon, Blevins & Gage have entertained audiences across North Carolina and beyond with their unique brand of bluegrass/American roots music, carrying on the traditions of Doc Watson and Merle Travis. They've recorded critically acclaimed CDs and have played countless music venues across the state including Merlefest in Wilkesboro. We are honored to have these amazing artists with us. You will NOT want to miss BLUEGRASS AT QUAIL RIDGE! Join us September 14 at 2 pm!
It's time for a musical night out. Tony & Gary Williamson perform a free concert of traditional music with guitar and mandolin from their new CD, Bluegrass. It's a great music event for the whole family. Join us September 28 at 3:00 pm.
